Rules to Remember
1. Always show the 3 R’s. (Respect, Responsibility, and the Right to Learn)
2. Come prepared to work with homework completed.
3. Follow directions and stay on task.
4. Keep hands, feet, and objects to yourself.
5. Be Respectful and Responsible Listeners.
6. Be kind and courteous to others.
7. Raise your hand to ask questions.
Classroom Work Expectations
Every student is expected to: write neatly, use complete sentences, answer thoughtfully, use details, review work before turning it in, follow directions, take time when completing work, and attempt to answer all questions.
Homework Expectations
Usually, homework should not take more than 60 minutes a night. In addition to homework, time should be set aside daily for independent reading and studying math facts. This does not have to take a long time. Just 10 or 15 minutes a day spent reviewing math facts can significantly help your child's performance on tests.
Please encourage your child to do his/her best work. Homework should be neat. All written work should be done in pencil. Homework will not be accepted if written in pen, crayon, marker, etc.
Assignment Policy
During the day students are given time to work on assignments. However, if they do not finish their assignments, it is their responsibility to take them home and finish them. Missing assignments and late assignments are not acceptable. Please make sure you are checking their PowerSchool on a regular basis to make sure they are keeping up with the assignments.
If for some reason (sickness, emergencies, etc.) a student is unable to complete homework, please write a note, and the assignment will be excused until the next day or longer if needed. However, please don't write a note asking for more time to complete homework if the reason is due to lack of materials, or because your child left their homework at school. Please remember, this will hurt your child in the long run because it sends the message that it is okay to not pay attention when we are going over homework. When students face the consequences of their actions it helps to prepare them to become more responsible, independent workers in the future.
Snacks/Water Bottles
Children may bring a healthy snack to eat during our designated snack time. The snack should be small and easy to eat and clean-up. Students will also be allowed to bring their own water bottles to class.
